The climate, principally because of the short winters and the long bright light days. In the UK there were often long spells of grey days which could be very disheartening. The Tapas Bars because of the large selection of local freshly grown and prepared food plus the friendly atmosphere of the Spanish people. The Real Spain as the Region of Murcia is not overcrowded with tourists and many of the people still adhere to the traditions of their ancestors. The pace of life is more relaxed than the UK and some other well known areas of Spain.
Activities
Golfing as there is a wide choice of Golf Courses in Murcia Region and it is a way of meeting people who share the same interest. Walking, in the Sierra Espuña as there are many marked trails and the scenery and wildlife is astonishing. Shopping as there are many colourful markets and in contrast, the large shopping centres and trading estates where you can find everything you could possibly need for modern day living. Leisure Centres and sport facilities are very popular in the Region of Murcia and the variety of activities is far more than we expected and certainly as good as any we used in the UK.
